Daisy wins High Sheriff’s Young Persons Citizenship Award

YHW volunteer, Daisy

We are delighted to announce that Daisy, one of the Young Healthwatch (YHW) volunteers, has won the High Sheriff’s Young Persons Citizenship Award.

Daisy was nominated by Amy as she attends every meeting for YHW and goes above and beyond to attend extra events organised. She has given over 50 hours of her time over the last year, as well as doing exams etc.

Daisy was hugely involved in:

  • Emergency First Aid & Safety Awareness – a successful grant enabled over 40 young people, to benefit from this course. The project supported young people to be more resilient in their community, educating them in life skills; giving them confidence in their ability to prevent further injury or preserving life.

When we have tasks set, to record/report on services/projects, Daisy always volunteers for a role and will always endeavour to complete her piece of work. She is always willing to pick up other work, should her fellow volunteers fall behind.

Daisy has her own health issues to deal with which she does not let affect her role with YHW. An inspiration to anyone!

Congratulations from all of us at Young Healthwatch.

Young Healthwatch Central Bedfordshire are also runner-up in the High Sheriff’s Group award.
